From Washington State Rep. Laura Ruderman

Cattle Round-up
In the interest of keeping the public safe, Laura was a leader this week in the impromptu round-up of a misplaced cow in Kirkland. After a long day of campaigning, Laura was on her way home when she noticed a cow wandering down 132nd Street in Kirkland. Noting that this was not a usual situation in urban Kirkland, Laura notified 911 and proceeded to trail the cow with her car. While area law enforcement did respond, the wily cow eluded capture for some time. Several hours later, after many had given up on the round-up (including, perhaps the cow), animal control attempted to build a makeshift corral. Clearly this was not what the cow had in mind, as it galloped away through the nearest condo complex in search of better lodgings. Apparently it located a better spot as it was not found until the next morning. At last report, an animal control officer and six deputies safely returned the cow to its owner and we are grateful to Laura for continuing her "hands on" approach to government. The endorsement of the cow is not clear.
