It's been too long since I've posted here. Let's talk about having your pages found by Google. I've found that I don't always like it when people find my pages this way, at least for some pages. I have a number of pages that are all links, like this one, of my favorite fingerpicking guitarists. It seems to be mostly found by guitarists that I've never heard of, asking to be added to the list. But it's supposed to be a list of my favorites, not a list of people who asked to be added. I hate to turn them down, but then again I'd rather they didn't ask.
My (passive aggressive?) solution is to include <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX,FOLLOW"> in the header. This asks search engines to not index the page, and they usually comply whenever they get around to spidering the page again.
