Over the Rainbow / What a Wonderful World

Interesting article in the SF Gate about Bruddah Iz's most famous recording, on his Facing Future CD. It's a marvelous arrangement of these old chestnuts - Iz changed the chords, the lyrics and the rhythm, all subtly and effectively.

Israel Kamakawiwo'ole played a vintage Martin tenor ukulele, as shown in this photograph. The "Gabby" mentioned at the start of the song is doubtless referring to Gabby Pahinui, the great Hawaiian slack-key and steel guitar master.
