Emergency Preparedness

Finally a map of power outages appears in the Seattle Times, though only a large scale one. And there is more talk about emergency preparedness - this wind storm was small compared to a big earthquake which might hit. A couple more things occur to me on this subject: Money: Cash is king. Stores were not taking credit/debit cards as their machines weren't working. Many took checks but how long could they keep that up with the banks closed? It's probably a good idea to keep some emergency cash around. Smoke: All the fireplaces going covered the Eastside with smoke. Air quality was very bad. Gas cans: gas cans also sold out. They would be needed to refuel generators.
