Del Rey

Nice article about local musician Del Rey. She plays blues and ragtime on the guitar and ukulele. She's a great player who was inspired by Sam Chatmon, who it turns out was Bo Carter's brother. Bo Carter (a stage name) was famous for his raunchy songs. Del Rey publishes her own CDs at Hobemian Records. She'll be playing in a new ukulele duo with Mike Bristow at Victrola Coffee, March 1st at 8pm.

Fundraiser

Shelly and I went to a fundraiser for Maria Cantwell on Friday. She's running for re-election to the US Senate. I wanted to hear Sen. Clinton speak and shake her hand. We saw that she's a very controlled person, very professional. She gave a fine speech. Sen. Patty Murray was there too. I like her and I wish she and her famous tennis shoes would run for President.
