Snowy Lake Sammamish

We've had snow on the ground for most of a week now, which is quite unusual in these parts. Most years, we don't get any snow. The edges of the lake have started to freeze a little, which I have never seen. They say the whole lake froze over in 1950.
Another thing on emergency preparedness: I always thought we didn't have to worry about drinking water because after all we live next to a big lake. But during the power outage, the waste treatment plant stopped working and raw sewage went into the lake. So we've either got to have bottled water or enough propane to keep boiling lake water if needed.
